Downtown Goshen hosts its second Fire and Ice Festival on January 2nd and 3rd, 2009. The festival offers a full schedule of events which coincide with the monthly First Fridays celebration.

Fire and Ice Festival

Friday, January 2

Ice Sculptures
3 – 9 p.m.

Artists carve ice sculptures on Goshen’s historic downtown sidewalks. While walking downtown, spectators can enjoy hot eats with Goshen’s first Chili Fire competition!

Chili Fire Competition
5 – 9 p.m.

Goshen’s first people’s choice Chili Fire Competition.
Taste spicy soup from downtown restaurants and vote for your favorite!
All voters will be entered for a drawing - Tickets on sale at participating restaurants after December 26, or at Festival headquarters, 118 South Main, during the Festival.

Saturday, January 3

Sculpture Competition on the Goshen Courthouse Square
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Saturday the festival continues at the Goshen Courthouse with the Sculpture Competition. Watch contestants test their skills with elaborate competition pieces. Judges will review the competition sculptures and award cash prizes to the top three contestants based on the sculpture’s originality, artistic quality, technique, detail and design.
