Downtown Goshen hosts its first Ice Sculpture Festival on
January 4th and 5th
. The festival offers a full schedule of events which coincide with the monthly First Fridays celebration.

Friday, January 4

Friday evening, from 5 – 9 PM
Artists will carve forty ice sculptures on Goshen's Main Street and Washington Street sidewalks. While walking downtown, spectators can enjoy other First Friday events and specials.

Saturday, January 5

Ice Carving Competition 10 AM – 2 PM
On Saturday the Ice Sculpture Festival continues on the Goshen Courthouse Square with an Ice Carving Competition. Spectators will enjoy watching the contestants test their skill with the elaborate competition pieces.

Judges will review the competition sculptures at 2 PM and award cash prizes to the top three contestants based on the sculpture’s originality, artistic quality, technique, detail and design.

First Friday events and specials

The Festival is part of Goshen's monthly First Fridays celebration. You can read more on the First Friday web site.

Food and Drink

  • The Goshen Fire Department
    Help local kids traumatized by burn accidents with your dinner purchase. The Goshen Fire Department, with support from Backyard BBQ and Goshen Community Bank, will have a tent located on Washington Street where they will sell pulled pork sandwich dinners to raise funds to send a local child to Hoosier Burn Camp.

    Enjoy a warm drink and a "Sled Dog" hot dog with tasty toppings. Dine in or carry out available.
  • Eyedart Studio gallery/Gateway Winery
    Come inside for hot cider and watch the ice carvers working outside the store.
  • Maple City Market
    Warm up with a bowl of hot soup and fresh bread made in our deli.
  • The Window
    Support this local not-for-profit organization by purchasing a bowl of hot chili soup to eat while you enjoy the festival.

Art

  • Art matters
    Opening Reception for William Jensen, pastel artist featuring his wonderfully colorful, Goshen landscapes. It is free and open to the public.

Indoor Entertainment

  • New World Arts.
    Don Savoie concert (time TBA). Also, stop by for a tour of the NWA space and say hello to the new staff members.  All who stop by will receive an invitation to our January 11th Season Launch Party and a coupon good for $5 off a season ticket.
