Wheels and Deals

Vintage Moped Rally, a Motorcycle Rally and Cruisin’ Goshen Reunion!
Come downtown for Goshen’s Wheels and Deals July First Fridays.

Vintage Moped Rally
Vintage moped owners cruise into town and compete for “Best in Show”, as a vintage moped rally kicks off on Friday night. Mopeds will be parked on West Washington Street. The rally continues on Saturday, as 30-40 riders travel from Motion Left Mopeds in Elkhart to Krider’s Worlds Fair Gardens in Middlebury and end up back in Goshen at Roger’s Park for a cookout and fireworks. Doors of Goshen benefit auction

2nd annual benefit for LaCasa, Inc. and local artists

Doors preview:
July 27 - August 6

Participating artists’ doors showcased on the corners of Washington and Main Street sidewalks prior to the auction. Fragile or non-weather proof doors will be exhibited at the Eyedart studio gallery.

Benefit auction:
August 7, 7:30 p.m.

Bid on creatively-altered antique doors. Proceeds benefit LaCasa of Goshen, Inc., as well as the local artist who created each door. The auction will take place at the Eyedart studio gallery (213 South Main Street).


Fall Fashion Show

On Sep. 4, 2009

The 2009 First Fridays fall fashion show starts at 7 p.m. at the Goshen Theater (216 South Main Street).

Organized by Jules Boutique (130 South Main Street ), the show highlight fall fashions by downtown retail merchants.

Oktoberfest and Maple City Walk

Celebrate fall in Indiana!

The Washington Street outdoor music series will feature the Jake Miller Band and swing dancing lessons by Goshen College Swing Club at 5:30 p.m., and the Lavender Jazz Band, 8 - 10 p.m.

Bring the kids to Washington Street for a Fall Festival, 5 - 9 p.m., and the launch of the First Fridays Kids Book Club (5 - 7 p.m.).

Evening events also include a bicycle parade and free hayrides.

On Saturday, the fall celebration continues with a scenic 13-mile walk through autumn-kissed countryside, via the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail.

Every participant who completes the walk in time will receive a Maple City Walk medal and be entered into a drawing for a pair of walking shoes from Woldruff’s Footwear.

Fall Arts Festival

Discover the creative arts that are part of the Goshen community!

The Fall Arts Festival kicks off Friday, 5 – 9 p.m., with art, music and dance and downtown merchant specials.

On Saturday, November 7, the Festival continues with the 2009 fall Goshen Open Studio tour, featuring area studios and galleries and the work of many area artists.

Take the self-guided tour to view current gallery exhibits, get an inside look at artists’ studios, see work in progress, and purchase original art directly from the artist.

The tour is free and open to all ages, and runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday.

Shop outside the box!

From Nov. 15 to Dec. 20 2009

Holiday shoppers can take advantage of Sunday hours at locally owned businesses in Downtown Goshen.

The historic shopping district will launch its holiday season on Sunday, November 15, from 12 – 5 p.m. with an open house, hosted by participating stores, Downtown Goshen, Inc. and the Goshen Chamber of Commerce.

During the five-hour open house, visitors and shoppers can enjoy being serenaded by traveling musicians from the Goshen High School Choir, Goshen High School Orchestra, Bev Templeton Quartet, and the Bethany Music Department. In addition, the Goshen Chamber is sponsoring clowns to entertain children and will provide FREE horse-drawn wagon rides around the downtown area.

Participating stores will continue to be open on Sunday from 12 – 5 p.m. through December 20th. Those business open on Sundays include:
