On the First Friday of every month - throughout the year - businesses, artists, and entertainers throw a party in downtown Goshen. Hours are generally from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This month:

Doors of Goshen benefit auction

The Doors of Goshen
2nd annual benefit for LaCasa, Inc. and local artists

Doors preview:
July 27 - August 6

Participating artists’ doors showcased on the corners of Washington and Main Street sidewalks prior to the auction. Fragile or non-weather proof doors will be exhibited at the Eyedart studio gallery.

Benefit auction:
August 7, 7:30 p.m.

Bid on creatively-altered antique doors. Proceeds benefit LaCasa of Goshen, Inc., as well as the local artist who created each door. The auction will take place at the Eyedart studio gallery (213 South Main Street).

Friday, August 7, 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Goshen Public Library Children's Department
In participation with the theme this month for Goshen First Fridays, the Children’s Department will host a scavenger hunt for all ages. Come in anytime on Friday, August 7 to pick up a scavenger hunt form. Clues behind doors will help you discover the many “doors” in Children’s literature. Every participant who completes the hunt wins a prize! It’s fun and it’s free of charge.

After nearly two months away in Spain and as July's artist-in-residence at Glen Arbor Lake Street Gallery in southern Michigan, artist Karen Jacob will be back at Graber Designs Gallery with a special exhibition of new works this Friday night. Come see Jacob's pastels and watercolors as well as art by three generations of Graber women (books, paintings, miniature pottery), Bulgarian kilim rugs, Orthodox icons, and other international art from around the globe.

Spacious Heart Yoga will be selling t-shirts outside the studio and promoting a weekend yoga workshop led by Mimi Ray, an Anusara Yoga Teacher from Grand Rapids, MI. The workshop will be held Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9.
(There will not be any yoga offered on the Courthouse Lawn as previously stated.)

Graber Designs Gallery

Graber Designs Gallery is a family-owned business that specializes in Graber family art (paintings, limited edition prints, books) and art by international craftspeople. Owners Ann and Keith Graber Miller travel to Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe to hand-select all of their works from local artists and merchants. Ann Graber Miller also does interior and architectural design and consulting.

The gallery also features The Art of Karen Jacob. Jacob, a Michiana artist, uses the gallery as her studio, painting pastels and oil paintings and creating jewelry in her workspace.

The gallery is open noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, each week.
