On the First Friday of every month - throughout the year - businesses, artists, and entertainers throw a party in downtown Goshen. Hours are generally from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This month:

Pick up your tour card at participating eateries: The Cake Shoppe, Constant Spring, Duranguenze, Electric Brew, Maple City Market, Mattern's Butcher Shop & Corner Deli, The Nut Shoppe, South Side Soda Shop and Universal Tamal.

GHS Art Department Benefit Auction

The Goshen High School Art Department is sponsoring a silent auction at the First Presbyterian Church.  All proceeds will benefit the art program at GHS.  Items include both professional and student art as well as donated items from businesses and friends of the program.  The bidding will begin at 6:00 and close at 8:00 PM.

There will also be free snacks and beverages at usual at the church.  Come and enjoy!

New Horizons Band

Join us at City Church for the New Horizons Band at 7:00 p.m.  This band is made up of over 65 members (many from Goshen) who love the music they play.  If the weather is good we will be outside.  If not, join us inside, for a great evening of fun music from a huge band.  Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided at this free event.

I ❤ Goshen Restaurant Tour
This tasty new tour kicks-off during Goshen's May First Fridays event, and continues to the June First Fridays event, June 4, 2010.

To take part in this self-guided tour, pick up your I ❤ Goshen Restaurant Tour cards from Goshen Historical Society Museum (124 S. Main Street) or one of nine participating downtown restaurants.

Each restaurant will have a I ❤ Goshen Restaurant Tour sign in their window, as well as an informational table tent card that describes the tour and has detailed information about the owners of the business.

From Saturday, May 8, to Thursday, June 3, participants are invited to visit each location and get your card stamped.

Once your card is completed, turn it in to the Goshen Historical Society Museum (124 S. Main Street) during Goshen's June First Fridays event, Friday, June 4, between 5 – 7 p.m.

A drawing will take place Friday, June 4, at 8 p.m., on the E. Washington Street Entertainment Stage. One lucky winner will receive a $500 coupon book to be used at the participating eateries! Five other winners will receive a $100 coupon book. The coupon book will act as cash. Must be present to win. Must be 18 or older.

Harriet Monteith
Stop by the gallery for your last First Fridays chance to see work by Harriet Monteith (1903-1975). Harriet was born in Wakarusa, Indiana, went on to study at Ashbury College, Kentucky, and the Fort Wayne Art School. She studied with Robert Brackman, Emil Jacques, and at the Art Institute of Chicago.

The gallery is also featuring cartoons by Gerrit Huig, who is currently in Europe accepting awards for his most recent work!

Graber Designs Gallery is a family-owned business that specializes in Graber family art (paintings, limited edition prints, books) and art by international craftspeople. Owners Ann and Keith Graber Miller travel to Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe to hand-select all of their works from local artists and merchants. Ann Graber Miller also does interior and architectural design and consulting.

The gallery also features The Art of Karen Jacob. Jacob, a Michiana artist, uses the gallery as her studio, painting pastels and oil paintings and creating jewelry in her workspace.
