Poetry Readings by Literary Arts Collective
113.5 East Lincoln Avenue, Goshen
Apr 1, 5-9

You’d Be Foolish Not to Kick Off National Poetry Month by Attending this Fiction and Poetry Reading by the IUSB Literary Arts Collective
LAC was a superb presence at the Michiana Center for the Arts Grand Opening in December, and we are thrilled to have them back to be part of the April First Friday Event.

The reading will feature six authors: poets Charmi Keranen, Jennifer Stockdale (author of the forthcoming Now Puppy Teeth), Clayton T. Michaels (author of Watermark), Nancy Botkin (author of Parts That Were Once Whole, In Waves and the forthcoming Bent Elbow and Distance), and David Dodd Lee (author most recently of The Nervous Filaments, Sky Booths in the Breath Somewhere and Orphan, Indiana), and fiction writer Kelcey Parker (author of For Sale By Owner).

Each author will read for ten minutes. Copies of their books will be available for purchase and signing.

Come out and kick off National Poetry Month on April 1! The readings begin at 7PM, with book sale and signing to follow. The event is free and open to the public.

Drop the Dawg
136 South Main Street, Goshen
Apr 1, 8-10

“Drop the Dawg” is a trio of musicians who mix acoustic newgrass, pop, jazz and gospel. Invited to play at the first Michiana Mennofolk festival in 2002, the experience was so successful the three just kept on pickin’.
Jim Shenk is a luthier from Goshen, Indiana who is responsible for most of the guitar work as well as dobro, pedal steel and vocals. Duane Gundy, a general contractor from Shavehead Lake, Michigan, handles the mandolin, guitar, bass and vocals. The trio is completed with Mike Hoover, a computer programmer from Goshen, performing on bass, keyboards, flute and vocals.
We encourage you to enjoy our music the way we do, without pretense or pressure to perform the prevailing pessimism! “Dawg On”!!!

The 60-passenger yellow school bus will be parked outside Accents Framing & Gifts and Better World Books on W. Washington St. during April First Fridays.

Hop on the bus and sign the exterior for just $5 ($25/whole family) to make a lasting mark on the lives of 120+ orphaned babies and kids living on a compound in Port-au-Prince. Support will also helps desperate, remote communities in the mountains of Haiti, as the bus will also be used as a mobile emergency medical clinic.

For a $100 donation, you can help cover shipping costs for one foot of the 36-foot bus. It will go on a barge from Florida to New Life Children's Home. Quality Driveaway Inc. of Goshen has donated services to drive the bus from Goshen to Florida.
