Green Day 5K Run and 2K Fun Walk

Art For The Heart - Haiti is Goshen’s first community-wide silent art auction and live concert benefit event for Haiti relief

This silent art auction and live concert benefit event, being held in conjunction with First Fridays, (Goshen’s monthly downtown block party), will feature a silent arts/crafts auction of high-quality original art and artistic creations, including paintings from Haiti and from artists and crafters both in and outside this community. The auction will also
include fashions and jewelry, handbags and original gifts. 

Goshen Mayor Allan Kauffman will bring opening remarks to start the free concert portion of this family-friendly event, which is being organized by volunteers in this community to help another community in desperate need. Musical performers will include Brenda Earvin, a powerhouse gospel soloist who directs The Faith Mission of Elkhart Choir, The Elkhart Glee Club, singer/songwriter Peter Sessions, indie/pop rising star Ivory West, celebrated jazz pianist Titus Arko, and Goshen college student and recording artist Marissa Dooley. 

Faith Mission of Elkhart volunteers will be serving cooked rice and beans, donated by Maple City Market, for $5 per bowl, and coffee will be provided by The Electric Brew. Volunteer organizers with Art For The Heart - Haiti - are going to Haiti in May and have committed to serving and bringing relief (from the proceeds of the benefit) to New Life Children’s Home, a Haitian orphanage with a mission to rescue, restore and rebuild lives. In Port-au-Prince. New Life Children’s Home is operating as a wound recovery clinic for children and amputees needing prosthetic services and physical therapy. New Life Children's home is an outreach of World Harvest Missions. http://www.newlife4kidz.org/index.php

Art For The Heart - Haiti is supported by: Accents Framing and Gifts, Faith Mission Of Elkhart, Gift of Gab, Freighters & Caters, The Goshen Theater, First Fridays,Cornbread-n-Jazz, Maple City Market, The Electric Brew, The Arts in Michiana, The Elkhart Glee Club, eyedart studio Gallery, WInd In The Willows, Mattern’s Meats, Constant Spring, Goshen College, Jules Boutique, Elkhart County Works Together,
Faith Mission of Elkhart, and many others individuals and groups.

Proceeds from the event are committed to short-term and sustainable relief efforts within the community of Jacmel, a port city established by wealthy coffee merchants and the recognized hub for creative arts and culture in Haiti. Since the devastating January, 2010 earthquake, Jacmel is in ruins, but a spirit for restoration is alive.

Art For The Heart - Haiti , You can help Haiti, and fill up on local goodness at the same time!

Organic rice & beans (for $5/bowl) will be served outside The Goshen Theater from approx. 5:30 p.m. until the food runs out.

The Rice & Beans are provided by Maple City Market and will be prepared and served by a crew of Faith Mission of Elkhart volunteers.

Fresh coffee for a dollar, donated by The Electric Brew, will also be served outside.

100% of proceeds are committed to Haiti relief and restoration.
