July 4th celebration!

Pre-fireworks fun in downtown Goshen

GOSHEN, IND - GOSHEN, IND – First Friday’s will create a festive atmosphere in downtown Goshen as a summer celebration takes place on the 4th of July from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be music on the courthouse lawn, food specials, and shopping discounts around downtown.

Southside Denny will get the evening going. At 5:30 p.m., on the courthouse lawn, local guitarist Denny Snyder will play jazz and blues solo guitar.

Then, Los Bandits will take over the courthouse venue at 7 p.m. Los Bandits’ style reflects the richness of Tex-Mex music by combining Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Country, Rock, Norteno and Tejano music. The group brings an alternative world beat sound that appeals to a very diverse audience.

First Fridays serves up plenty of food, art, and shopping. Some special events and promotions scheduled include:

• Accents Framing and Gifts: More Bang for your Buck! Discounts from 1 percent to 100 percent hidden in 50 helium balloons.
  
  
• Gift of G.A.B.: Give your wardrobe fireworks! Come to the Gift of G.A.B. closet and celebrate the savings! Red, White, and Blue, 50 percent off.
  
  
• Constant Spring: Picnic dinner special: Bar-B-Q, baked beans, and corn on the cob.
  
  
• Gateway Winery / Wine Cellar Supply: Wine specials, sulfite free Australian Shiraz and Johanessburg Riesling. Also, live music.
  
  
• New World Arts: From 6 – 8 p.m., sit in on a rehearsal of “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder. The production opens in July.
  
  
• Sycamore Fine Arts: Stop by to see a new art exhibit: “Small Wonders,” featuring small scale and intricate art of 12 award-winning artists from North America and Europe.
